When you skip meals your metabolism slows down, and you are not burning calories like you should. You body thinks that you are starving so when you eat again your body stored away more than usual resulting in more fat!
Aim to eat your meals on a smaller plate to begin with, this will help you control your portion sizes. Make sure 1/3 of your plate is made up of vegetables, eat these first followed by your protein then your carbohydrates last, this will mean you will fill yourself up most before you eat your carbs, resulting in you eating fewer of them.
Try to stay away from carbs at dinner time as overnight is when your body stores all the fat, the carbs you eat earlier are more likely to be burnt off throughout the day.
